Right now I am in hour 5 of a 12 hour workday. We had 4 hours of training for our new hotel software this morning. Then I went to lunch with my friend/coworker Nick, and our trainer. Then I went home and changed. Then I got coffee. Now, I am back for 8 more hours. Just so I can be back at 8 tomorrow for MORE training. (And then real class.) Woot.
It’s looking more and more possible that I will not be leaving the hotel tonight, as the roads are already icy, we have a ton of people coming in to get off the roads, and there have already been several accidents. I guess I am fortunate to work in a place that actually has beds though.
I just had the craziest night of probably my entire life to date.
Got iced in at work.
Pipes burst.
Water falling from the ceiling onto the front desk.
Slept about an hour.
But, honestly, I’m really happy with the way I handled everything. And the customers have been so folite and gracious. So, overall, the experience has actually been positive.
And also, if you’re interested in hearing all the crazy stories, let me know, and I’ll tell you personally, but I don’t like to make it a habit of posting stuff about work in a public forum.
I want to be Rob Lowe’s Character on Parks and Recreation. Super positive about everything ever. Like, imagine how fun life would be if you just made everything more positive? I think I’m going to start now.
THIS SPREAD SHEET IS PHENOMENALLY GREAT!

THIS HOMEWORK IS SUPER AWESOME!

THIS SALES PLAN IS SO MUCH FUN!

(But really, it kind of is.)
You should DEFINITELY hire my friend Denise if you need or know someone who needs some extra help! She taught me everything I know about being awesome.
hey guys- would you mind taking a look at my new site and spreading the word to those whom you might think could benefit from my services?
thanks!
This week is going to be very VERY busy for me. And somehow, when I feel overwhelmed by all the busyness, it helps me to blog about it in list form. So here’s what I have going on this week:
That exercise actually made me a little more tired just thinking about it. But at least I’ll be able to find this list when I forget what I’m supposed to be doing.
Day 21 - A Song You Listen to When You’re Happy
“Rocky Top,” The Osborne Brothers
I have no ability to articulate why I listen to this song when I’m happy, or why it makes me so happy, but it is just so happy to me. One night at work, we had this crazy, terrible night, and I was up all night at work, and then I went to sleep for an hour in one of the rooms, and I had forwarded the calls from the front desk to the room I was in, and I woke up to answer the phone at about 6 am, and then I listened to this song and jumped on the bed, and I was awake again.
“When we narrowly define God’s work, we end up channeling people into working for the church, often motivated by guilt, rather than partnering with God in whatever skill or passion he has given to them as a gift, as a way of bonding with him.”
I’m off for about 48 hours. My work schedule is super weird this week. I got off work at 11 pm Monday, and I go back in on 11 pm Wednesday to work the overnight shift.
I’m not super excited about working overnight, to be honest. But just because I think it may totally eff up my circadian rhythms. And then I am photographing a wedding on Saturday, so my whole sleep schedule will be off by then. But I digress.
This is what I am going to attempt to get done during my 48 hours off:
Probably some other stuff too, but now I’m ready to move on to the sleep portion of my day. Also, I don’t understand why you people keep following my tumblr when most of my posts are super boring, like this. But, nonetheless, I appreciate it.
He really has the best, most blunt way of explaining...
Thanks Pop...
