This is really quick because I am in a library in Auckland in between doing other things. Yesterday, I came into Auckland with my cousin, did some homework at his office, saw One Tree Hill, had dinner, and stayed with some friends of his overnight.
One of the awesome things about New Zealand is the lack of formality everywhere. People are super hospitable, but they are also not going to go out of their way to make everything look perfect and sparkly. Pretty much everyone is just like “It is what it is. Take it or leave it.” And I LOVE that mentality. It’s fantastic.
It was the birthday of one of the people that we were staying with, so we had cake and stuff with them, and I met about a gajillion people. Everyone was amazing.
Today, I took a bus downtown, and I’m hanging out and exploring Auckland. It’s really rainy, so most of my activities are going to be indoors, since I don’t have an umbrella. I just went to visit the Auckland museum, which was super interesting. I’m going to have lunch and then either check out the art gallery or take a ferry to the north shore or both. I can’t believe this is my last full day here! I fly out in about 30 hours!
He really has the best, most blunt way of explaining...
