It occurs to me that I am really not very interested in hearing or reading stories that are not true, or do not contain honesty. I’m happy to read an implausible true story, because it makes me optimistic, and I’m happy to read hyper-realistic fiction, because it’s rooted in actual occurrences. But, I have no interest in reading implausible fiction.
I realize this may be an unpopular opinion.
I’m both quite idealistic and quite logical, and I highly favor writing that bridges the gap between idealism and logic. But fairy tales and other such things simply do not excite me like the grit and chaos and surprises of reality.
